home

needed

to

respond

to

the

realities

of

Puerto

Rico’s

climate,

including

intense

sun,

humidity,

and

the

threat

of

hurricanes.

This

meant

that

resilience

and

durability

had

to

be

integral

to

the

design

from

the

very

beginning,

without

sacrificing

elegance

or

the

sense

of

openness.
